Getting that ubuntu can't find build-essential, "software center doesn't offer any downloads".
This means that the 'apt' database is out of date so just update it --> sudo aptitude update
Each time i got screen freeze while using ubuntu. the first reaction was to press the restart button.. Big Mistake.
after that the os was unable to start and was asking me to do disk check!!
so the fast solution to this problem is running .. gparted from a live CD to check and that partition..
and think again before forcing a restart next time.
